Major Project works
Below are links to the three articles I submitted as my Major Journalism Project when I concluded my time at Salford University in May 2017.

All of which concern different elements of non-league football and all feature interviews with managers, players, and supporters.

ANDY HALLS: WEMBLEY BOUND

Eyes were raised when Andy Halls, aged just 24, was appointed captain of Macclesfield Town.

I caught up with the defender after he proved the doubters wrong and was set to lead his side out at Wembley in the FA Trophy final against York City.

THE FA TROPHY: HELP OR HINDRANCE

Non-Leagues version of the FA Cup often comes in for criticism, often overlooked by managers and seen as nothing more than an unwelcome distraction.

I took an in-depth look into the merits of the competition, as well as its pitfalls, having spoken to winners of the competition and conducted surveys amongst non-league fans of several tiers, to find out if the FA Trophy gets the credit it deserves.
NON-LEAGUE FANS:
DEDICATION BEYOND COMPARE

A Torquay United fan travelling to all 23 National League away games covers more ground than if he flew to Sydney, Australia, yet some people gladly spend their hard-earned money on doing just that.

But why? What makes football fans show such a phenomenal level of commitment when there is no guarantee they'll even see their side score a goal?

I ask fans of the Gulls as well as Truro and Lowestoft Town amongst others what allows them to sacrifice such a huge amount of their time and finances supporting their team.
